I built a dial page button on a 2420 tel set using group 200 as the destination. Group 200 is used for the night service. When nights is on the page does not work. Tried to create another group that looks like group 200 but cannot add extensions to it. Help please.
 
Because the hunt group is in night service.
I always create a separate hunt group called Paging, say 320, collective call waiting, voicemail off, No answer timer 999, no overflow, fallback to main (in case they're trying to page in an emergency) and then add paging members to it.
Then have a separate set up from your main group and night group.
Button on handsets
Feature: Dial Paging
Dial 320 Paging

Done.

If you can't add members to this new group you are either experiencing a 'feature' or PEBCAK. Delete group. Merge and try again.




 
Yes, cannot add members. Thanks, already tried to delete and create new group but still cannot add as of yesterday, will try again. Merge?
 
How are you trying to add them? Have you ever been able to/tried before, it's fairly simple :)

 
Merge is what you do when you save the config without rebooting. Merge the new config with the running config.
Go Manager> (hunt) groups>
Select your group.
Scroll to the bottom.
Click edit.
Select User.
Click append.
Press ok
Press save (merge).

Press help on this page and look for user list.

I follow all this, but when I build the hunt group the {Extension | Name} box is empty.

I have built HG before as I have build night services.

I know it'll be something simple.
 
I thought merge was something I missed while building the HG, not merging the DB which I do understand.

Nevermind. I KNEW it was something stupid I was missing. EDIT the ext list. For some reason I figured the list would populate itself. Like another poster on these threads I am trying to learn this system on my own. Love it but it is real hard to loose the old "Bell System Hat", thanks for all the help I have received on this site. (and hope to continue to receive)
