Station Cabling

I was able to look at one of these IP set the other day and I noticed what looked like not 1 but two 8 pin JR45 out of the bottom of each phone set.

I could not play with them cause they were at a Home Depot and I did not want to get yelled at by a clerk.

Are both these large cables needed to install each set? Seems like a lot more then the simple Merlin would require.

You only need one cable
The other one is to connect a pc to the phone so you only need one cable on the switch
Download the manual of the phone and you know exactly what you need to know

You probably have a 46xx SW/ 56xxSW phone, SW standing for switched.

Connection to a PC or the likes, saves on cabling as tlpeter said

Will this delivery a back lit display as with for example a Partner 18D. These sets requite a 2 pair.

The only backlit phones are the 4621,5621 and the 4625
Those are ipphones
