Static Route not working

Hi, I am trying to get 2 Networks to connect over Cisco router but although I have created a default route 0.0.0.0/0 I am unable to ping the remote network via a PC.
Configuration I have set so far is as follows;
PC
10.0.0.2/24
10.0.0.1(Gateway)

Router1
Interface 0/0 10.0.0.1/24

Interface 0/1 192.168.0.2/24

Default Route Router(config)# ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.0.1

Router2
Interface 0/0 192.168.0.1/24

From the PC I can ping 192.168.0.2 but not 192.168.0.1

Help!!!
 
router 1 does not need a default route

ROUTER 2 needs a default route.

switch them around it should work.

You wouldnt know how to configure the same setup but replacing router2 with an ADSL Modem? The modem gives Router1 interface an external ip address dynamically but cant get out to the internet via the PC. I have congigured a dialer(interface0/1) that can ping external addresses from the router! May be a NAT setting I believe?
 
if R2 is an adsl modem (im guessing from ISp?) then all you have to do is change the interface connected to said ADSL modem to dhcp .
the router will then inject a default route into the table and all your connection will be directed there..

and yes you need nat setup..
