static noise in lines.

Hi,i need your expertice on this particule problem,i test these phones lines on the demark side were the carrier drops the lines,i got dial tone in most of these except in one them,but then when i used a phone to call out,i heard a lot static in every line,and i tryed 4 other phones with same results,thanks

What kind of phone?

If you have static at Demarc then report it to carrier.
If no static then check/replace the wiring cables and/or the jumpers going to the KSU.

Hey curlycord thanks for responding,the type of phone the i test those lines was 7310,and i also checked on the jumper cables going to the BCM,everything is nice and tide.So i dont know what else to do.

I'am sorry,it was not a 7310 it was a 7316.

do you have any static when calling from one phone on the system to another? If so, you have multiple bad phones (cords or handsets) or a bad power supply. Remove any of those round cord detanglers that may be plugged into the handsets.

I all ready test calling internally and you don't hear static is only when i call out.I also check on most of the handset cords and they are ok.So at this point i think we have maibe a bad trunk card.

When you tested at the demarc, did you actually make any test calls, or just go off hook?

Sometimes the dial tone will drown out static.

In the old days we had a number you could call to get silence for a long time.
Try dialing at least 1 digit at demarc.

To be sure... you need to test the carrier side of Demarc with an analog phone.
Make sure to pull the jumper off the BCM so it does not interfere with the test.

yes,i test these lines on the demark of course i removed the bridge clips and made a call out and it was nice and clear.So i think the trunk card has to be replace.

Power down, reseat the card then power up as a last fix attempt.
