Static Mitel 3000

We have a customer who has a Mitel 3000 and have a problem with dialing into a outside auto attendant and the AA does not recieve the digits being pressed from the 3000. Also phones will just stop working but only a third of them. Tech support said this is an issue with static build up and recommed me to talk to the customer to have them treat thier floors for the static issue. Does anyone know this to be a factor before I suggest this to a customer that just replaced thier old Merlin system that did not seem to have these issues. Any advise would help. Thanks

This is too funny. Treat their floors is tech supports response!?!
Our company was installing these Mitel 3000s for about 6 months then we stopped altogether because of their bad quality.

I've run into this same issue. Although the problem might be caused by static or poor line conditions, what I found with my instance was a bad extension port on the 3000 itself. As soon as a programmed the extension to use another port the issue went away. If you do not have any spare ports to swap with then you might find yourself replacing the main box or the expansion modules. Hope this helps.

Just ran into this very issue a couple of weeks ago on a new installation. One phone would not pass DTMF through to an AA, a cold restart on the system fixed the problem.

You've described about as much information as going to the mechanic and saying your car has a kerplunking sound, and if I was the mechanic I'd tell you need leather seats.

What type of phone are you using? What type of trunk? What do you mean 'stopped working'?
