I work on ps 7, and on xp. I downloaded from the internet quite a few styles, and when I start photoshop it takes about 5 minutes, and you could see that it stops by 'the styles' for quite a while and then it continues to startup, it is very annoying, any help?

STARTUP IS EXTREMLY SLOW, STYLES?

as far as i am aware... if Photoshop has to read 10,000 fonts while it is booting up it's gonna take some time! i don't think XP has any font management so it has to deal with all the font metrics
... that is if by styles you mean fonts/typefaces

I had the same problem. After installing numerous texture/brush styles etc, the load time for Photoshop was huge! I ended up deleting most of the styles -- You can always install them later when you need them. This did the trick and Photoshop now loads normally.
