Starting Windows 2000 setup stops

I'm upgrading to windows 2000 server from NT Here is my problem

I put the disk in and tell it to upgrade, it reboots and loads all the files and then it stops at "Starting Windows 2000 setup" No errors just sits there forever if I let.

what could be the problem

Can you try with a different CD? IT hapened to me Once, i changed the CD and the problem was solved. A+, MCP, CCNA

I had this problem with a machine and after bangin my head for weeks and alot of researce I found a quirky little article that talked about bad memory chips causing setup to fail. the memory worked fine in the existing OS adn once the new OS was loaded but was causing setup to fail.
I had added some generic memory chips.
