I'm working with an Aloha system that was purchased from a restaurant no longer in business. Is there some way to reset all the information and begin a new company? Should I re-install it. It's version 6.1.9. I have all the access information from the previous owner of the system.

Also, I can't seem to get the terminal to talk to the server. They see each other but it keeps rebooting after saying "Processing End of Day". Any help or guidance would be MUCH appreciated...

in aloha set the current day of business to today. refresh this will fix the end of day problems.

All the data is stored in the dated subdirectories like this \aloha\20121212. just delete the dated subs and all the historical data will be gone.

I have done what you said. After I refreshed and rebooted both server and terminal, the terminal still loads going directly into "Processing End of Day". Is there anything else I can try?

fileserver recovery in aloha manager under utilities.

I clicked on the file server recovery and I get no response. What I believe happened is the Terminal was changed to the fileserver (also says Master on it) and we need to make the server the file server again. I've tried your tools under FAQ's to recover the file server recovery on the server but still nothing is changing. I need to get the server to act as file server and the terminal to act as a terminal so I can input the new menu, employees, everything.
To note: When I try to access the terminal now, it gives the "System redundancy limit has been exceeded" error.

If there is anything you can do to help, I would GREATLY appreciate it. Right now I'm dead in the water and have been pounding at this for days and days...

First of all, the Aloha BOH server - do you have the software key attached and do you get any errors when logging into aloha manager ( like ctrlsvr not running). Check the windows services and see if ctrlsvr is running. Also do you have the network cable attached to the correct nic card (if you have 2)in the computer.

Can you browse to the terminals. Can the terminals browse to the server.

Fileserver recovery dosen't have an indicator if it's working or not just the termials will come out of redundancy.
