My database has developed nicely after following much help from this forum for which I am deeply grateful.

My database is to do with horse racing.
I have a recommendation form where I fill in details of a horse in a race. I have a button that takes me to a bet form which extracts a couple of fields from the recommendation form. When I close the bet form I return to the recommendation form but I then have to go to a new record manually by clicking the star thingy at the bottom.

What I would really like to do is start a new record after returning to the recommendation form and preload it with a couple of fields from the recommendation just completed.

I hope that makes sense.
You folks have been top notch so far so I'm hoping you can help me again.
Thanks for your time (again!!)

Hi,

Just try putting this line of code in after you close the form :

DoCmd.GoToRecord acDataForm, "FormName", acNewRec

That should do the job !

Thanks, Chris, that creates the new record nicely.
