Hi

We are running MQSeries 5.1 on Windows NT 4.0 sp6a. Does anyone know of a way to start channels automatically when the server is rebooted? We currently have to do this manually after every reboot. I am sure there should be an option somewhere to do this but after several attempts to find it I have given up looking!

Any help much appreciated

If I were you I would use triggering.

Trigger the xmit queue to start a process that issues a start command for the channel.

I would set a reasonably low disconnect interval for the channel too (about 10 minutes), that way there is less chance of something dragging the channel down outside of MQ's control thus making things less liely to get into a retry state.

Hi,

Since u're using MQSeries for Windows NT, it will be much easier. Go to the IBM MQSeries Services panel, under the Qmgr name you created, right click, select New, Channel. Under channel, fill in the channel name and ensure on the General Tab there, set the Startup Type = Automatic. It should fix your problem.

Thanks.
