Sorry, but I am new to this networking stuff, so will have some really basic questions.

Although I just started 2 weeks ago, they have been running Arcserve here for years. I recently had to down the server, but it appears arcserve did not come back up. I typed 'load arcserve.nlm', but it says "Unable to find load file arcserve.nlm" Am I using the wrong command? How do I get Arcserve to start?

Novell Netware 5

Well, you really need to describe what versionof Arcserve you are using. But if it's Arcserve 6, type astart6 at the command prompt. I'm sure other folks will be able to help you more if that doesnt work.

Thanks, Bill. That did help. I am running 6. Still not completely where I need to be, but back on my way.

You also might want to unload just Arcserve, just type "astop6" at the console. The extension is ncf (astart6.ncf, astop6.ncf) which is like a batch file (*.bat) in DOS. Do a search in your sys:system folder for NCF file extensions and you may find other programs that load (and unload) in a certain order or that have load paramaters that are needed.

Cheers,

Mark ;-)

You also might want to put astart6 in your autoexec.ncf file so that next time you down the server, Arcserve will start up during the re-boot.
