Just upgraded 4.1 MICS with a working 4-port Startalk Flash VM...upgraded to 7.1 and VM will not come up...feature 983 requires 266344 password and asks for a "Key". Startalks have never needed keycodes...what's up????

Thanks for the reply...I did the F903 and ok'd the features, but F985 still said inactive and F983 was still asking for "key"...how do you get past "key"...do you hit #?

Not sure, can't get back in until Monday...what caused VM to reinstall? Is it 7.1 software...never had one do this before...it was fully programmed and working.

I've found nowhere that says Flash won't work with 7.1...user is not going to go for this. What is the latest release that will work with Flash VM, do you know?

VT33, sounds like you had a Flash 1.9 which I believe isn't supported on anything after 6.1.

Right. It does sound like you'll have to upgrade your vm sw.

Once you initialize the vm with f983 and 266344, next and yes through until you see "system ready". Then get back into f983, and press 9. That will display your sw level. If it's under 2.0, you'll have to upgrade it.

Sometimes an incompatible sw voice mail will initially come up on a system, but if it is not compatible on Nortel's Compatibility Matrix, you'll have nothing but trouble down the line.

Thanks Rik...did come up with 1.9 sw, but not functioning properly.
