We just took over a company that has a Nortel 0X32 with StarTalk Flash (NT5B06DM-93 4 port with V1.4.60 card installed).

Is this reliable or should it be upgraded? Secondly, I was told that newer software is available, also worth upgrading?

Does it have value on the used market if we choose to go with a different VM system? Our vendor says he could provide "a couple of hundred bucks" if we wanted to sell it. Need your opinions.

Thanks in advance for help.

Back in the bad old days when the flash was first produced, the flash would go off line on a "regular" basis. 1.4.60 was one of the softwares produced along the way to a fix. the next version was 1.5.00, then came 1.7.00, then 1.9.00, then 2.0.02, then 2.0.10, and now 2.1

Upgrade the flash to 2.1 and install a ups on your system. The flash voicemail does not like "durty" power failures (by durty I mean power goes off, comes back on, goes off, browns for a bit and fails. or comes back on in the same manner) the flash may lose it's programming.

Thanks... I will upgrade the software.

There is a rack mount APC SmartUPS 1400 backing up the OX32 and VM.
