I have read through the previous posts about trying to save a copy of the pcmcia card to laptop or usb card. I am wondering if there is a way to upgrade one of my old startalk r1.5 or 1.7 to the 2.0 that I have in 2 of my spare units. I just got the 1.5 in with an older mics with r1t1 and am going to upgrade the t1r1 to 4.1 on the mics. Is there any way to copy the 2.0 from one of my 2 backups to the 1.5 I just got in? Thank You in advance
Mike

On a practical level, you would need some specialized read/write hardware (such as the Elan Reader and Synchrotech viewer) and some legacy software to utilize it which will require some moderate searching for these days.

Also, what you propose to do is a violation of the software copyright and license.

Given the cost of the hardware/software and tech time to make a couple of copies, aside from the legality (or illegality) of it, you would likely find good condition licensed 2.0 software pulls for roughly the same cost.

Point well taken, It would probably be more time and money than just picking up another. I just didn't know if there were a newer, easier way of doing it, and with Nortel and Norstar having gone bankrupt if that would free up the proprietary software.
Thanks
Mike
