Startalk Mini basic connection question

I've been asked for help with adding a Startalk Mini (rel 01) to a Meridian system which looks quite old. 6 lines, 16 extensions, the switch shows its system version as: 30 NCB 09.

Starting at the very beginning, what's the connection between the main unit and the Startalk?

Do I connect an extension port to the LJ socket on the front of the Startalk?

Mighty glad of any assistance!

Startalk uses standard digital station ports from the KSU connects to KSU via telephone jacks on the side.

be advised mini's are not y2k compliant. you won't be able to set the correct time/date

Regardless of what everyone says, the mini is a widely used and still popular voicemail. To connect it to your 616 you would run a cross connect from one of your digital ports (usually the last port) to a surface mount jack. Then hook a line cord (2 or 4 conductor)from the jack to the mini. It might take a minute for it to recognize it. Hope this helps.

I take on board what people are saying about old and flaky technology, but I haven't quite persuaded these folks to upgrade to the 21st century yet!

If I can just get this sorted, I can go back to my proper work!!

I, too, have installed a Startalk Mini to a Meridian 6X16. I followed the steps you indicated, however, the system does not recognize it. It is installed on the 16th port and I have DR5 software. Any suggestions to troubleshoot(besides getting rid of it)?
