I can't get the feature codes to work. When I Go into F**XFTEST there are no feature codes registered. Any ideas?

What version of software is your KSU and Flash?

You can tell if its a 2 port of 4 port by simply removing the inside cover while the unit is unplugged. If theres a module under that board, its a Flash 4... otherwise if that board isnt there, its just a 2 channel voicemail.

How do I register feature codes on a CICS w/ startalk flash?

Try Ftr903, then wait 10 secs. and try Ftr983.

I can't get into any feature codes to try them.

Ftr903 will activate the feature codes on a defaulted Flash. If that doesn't work, can you see the Flash in Maint?

His flash is V1.46 which doesn't require using F903. The codes should register when the Flash boots up, so obviously there is a problem with the boot sequence. Make sure the digital station connected to the Flash is active or the Flash will not finish booting.

Or ... stop beating that dead horse and upgrade!

Man oh man ...
Why is it that people will upgrade Windows/Network EQ without a 2nd thought, but want to run the piece of equipment that provides a link to the business world, and generates revenue, on the s/w that came with the system with they bought it?

Have you tried just plugging a phone into the vm jack? If it doesn't work then it's just a wiring issue.

I have an MICS with an old startlk that we are trying to get running again. when we put it on the shelf it was working fine. Cannot get it to respond to feature 903 or 983. Everything is plugged in.

Don't knopw version...but was workin 1 year ago.

Any suggestions?

Goto Maintenance and verify the KSU sees the mail on the ports. If it sees it, replace the S/W.

S/w would be my guess, the cabinet is pretty hardy, unless it was hit with a power spike/dip
