Startalk Flash 2 1

I am installing a Startalk Flash 2 on an 8X24 DR5. The problem is that when you F981 a VMB, you get a screeching in your ear. Press a key and it stops. I have performed a connection check,checked that the software is compatible, moved the Flash to another port, done a REINSTALL and started over from scratch but the problem is still there.
Has anyone out there run into this same problem and have a possible resolution? I am under the assumption that the Flash unit is bad at this point but thought I would do a double check to make sure that I am not missing something.

Sounds very odd....have seen this before but no fix, it can happen just like that, replace unit or short out capacitor if you feel lucky.

The unit is on warranty so I will obtain a replacement. Thanks again curlycord.
