How can you tell which is which? Can you defrag this type of voicemail? Is the last voicemail software version 2.0.4L or is their a later version? Thanks in advance.

There is no way to defrag this mail.
2.04L was the last support version and provided Y2K compliance as well as many bug fixes.
Hard drives for this mail have gotten very scarce.

Startalk BC stands for Before Christ ...
Both are pretty old, and better off changing those out with CP being not so expensive ... probably the switch needs an upgrade as well

I love the old startalks they were not made by Nortel but a company called Voysis or Voysys or something like that.
Boy were they stable.
If it ain't broke then don't fix it.

I would agree to the Before Christ thing. Thank you to all that responded. I would need to upgrade the phone system (R1-T1) software to go to the call pilot and they are really not cash ready to do that. The ssytem is starting to change configurations and flakly things. So I was hoping to be able to reset/defrag the system with out having to do a total restart. And to Aragon I know of a really cheat one you can buy...lol.

Gus,

"I would need to upgrade the phone system (R1-T1) software to go to the call pilot and they are really not cash ready to do that."

This is way too bad. The telephone system is without doubt the most important computer any company owns. Really try to convince your decision makers to plan the replacement rather than suffer its failure.

Unfortunately inconsideration for telephone equipment is an all too common attitude when dealing with management types.

Thanks guys I know I said they are scarce.
I also know that the forum doesn't allow for shameless self promotion, but where I work we have access to everything including old Startalk drives.
Screw Ebay

FWIW if ever in a pinch for replacement drive for Startalk, track down your local Macintosh user's group... the old old Mac's used the same brand/model of drive, and most users concede that the computer will prop up the corner of the desk just as well without a HD :)

Thank you all for responding. I used the input that I received and showed it to the powers that be. And I got a contract signed for Software 6.1 upgrade and CP 150. Now all I have to do is convert the current info into the new software. Thanks again for your help.

Yup! lol
Now does anyone what to buy an old broken down Startalk????
Software that magicly changes by itself (at no extra charge)
It's got that latest software known to man.2.0.4 hmmmmmmmmm?
Any takers. Thanks again everyone.
