HI,
I am not sure if this is the right forum I am asking this question..correct me if I am wrong.

I have a Desktop PC with Windows 2000 Prof. Installed. When the computer starts there are a bunch of programs that automatically starts ( I can see them when I press Ctlr+Alt+Del and see the applications running)..lots of them I don't want them started as I reboot the machine..!!
Where in the machine do I go and remove them so that it does not get loaded in memory when the machine starts.

Thanks

You can click on Start, Programs, Startup... and right click them one by one and delete them.

Good luck

hi,I have two solution for your problem.
1.make a copy of msconfig.exe from any friend who is still
running win98(se ok,but not me) and run on to your machine.
You can do it by simply inserting the floopy and copy to your desktop. Then open the utility and click startup tab.Uncheck the programs that you do not want to run automatically.
2.visit and download a free copy of startup software(I think it is in bench mark catagory)and install in to your machine. Then open the file and uncheck those programs that you detaste to load automatically.babul

Open regedit. Browse to HKEY Local Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run and delete the relevant programs.
