I use windows xp, but when i start up my computer i have a couple programs that automatically startup that i don't want to startup and i have a couple of programs that attempt to startup but are gone, which makes me get an error messange saying there gone. Can anyone tell me how to change which programs stsartup automatically and which don't, besides going to start start up, i've already checked there.

Use command "msconfig", hello! how are you.

In addition to msconfig run regedt32 and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Remove any refences to programs that you do not want to start at start up. This is more powerful than msconfig.
