Start Date 1 and Finish Date 1

Created custom Start Date 1 and Finish Date 1 -- how do I calculate the duration in whole days?

It seems that for Duration : if I subtract Finish Date 1 from Start Date , I get a decimal number.

I'm sure it's simple and I'm way over thinking it.

You do realize that Date/Time is a decimal number.

Just take the integer of the duration to get a whole number, if you don'e care.

Just remember that the duration = Start - End + 1

You can create a Custom Field, say Duration1, with a formula to calculate the difference between Start Date 1 and Finish Date 1.

Is there a reason you're not using the built-in Start and End dates (and duration) at the task and summary levels?

Good question Johnherman. I have a client that is implementing 11 sites; they would like to see the dates for each site side by side in a project plan.

Insert a spar duration field (Duration1 for example). Right click on the field and select "Customize field". click the formula button. Enter the formula:

ProjDateDiff([Start1],[Finish1])
