Hello,

Is there any way to specify the start time for a job in JCL.??

Thanks in advance.

Ramkumar

If you're running VSE, use the DUETIME=hhmm on the * $$ JOB card to specify the start time.

Regards.

Thanks for your immediate response.
Is there any option available for OS/390 ??

Ramkumar

As far as I am aware, there is not. I've always used job schedulers such OPCA and Jobtrack which not only control the start time of a job, but can add dependancies on the successful completion of other jobs.

Hi Ramkumar,

I have a vague recollection of a JES cntl card parameter. I think it was DEADLINE. You might want to check that out. Sorry I can't be more specific. Don't have access to the manuals.

HTH, Jack.

Thanks Jack.

Can anyone tell me the syntax of DEADLINE in JES with an example.

Ramkumar
