I am having problems with Vodavi's woefully non-helpful documentation.

I am trying to get a StarPlus Dispatch unit setup to work with our StarPlus DHS unit.

One problem I am having is the MWI Set sequence in the Dispatch setup. The Starplus DHS documentation says this is [feat]96/[feat]*96 combination to set or remove the indicator. What I need to know is what I should enter in the Dispatch setup for the [feat] key?

Vodavi DHS and Dispatch work well together once everything is installed but your correct in that the manuals are lacking and not always easily understood. With Message waiting all you have to do is follow the instuctions in the front of the Dispatch manual and the DHS is a system listed that has Auto-Integration (I think that it is System 106) and when you tell Disptach that you have the DHS, all feature access codes are loaded into the voicemail. Then follow the instuctions to set up the DHS programming and that has to be done manually by the installer. You shouldn't have to worry about the FEAT key and remember that the DHS accesses Dispatch through the Analog Adapters and single line telephones don't have the FEAT key but have dial access codes to do things like MWI. I hope this helps!

I actually after much runaround with Vodavi technical support (which isn't support unless your a dealer....Grrr) and my reseller's technical support, I got the correct answer which I am posting here for everyone else who has the same sort of problem.

To set the MWI sequence you have to edit the registry of the Voicemail unit.

set the following registry keys then reboot the unit:

AAMWISet02 = ,#96@Ext
AAMWIClr02 = ,#*96@Ext

Please help me understand why you would need to edit the Registry? I've installed over 20 Dispatch voicemails and all but 2 were with DHS phone systems and the only time I ever had to edit was on an Executone System that didn't have an auto-integration set up. What wasn't working on the system and is this a bug in the software? Thanks for the post and I want to make sure that I understand this since there are still many of these in the field.
