I'm working on a stubborn Star Talk. I want to create a menu within a CCR tree so when I try, I can enter in the menu option and then record the announcement but then I cannot access the next level where you allocate the xfer to internal intercoms.

The manual states that maybe my unit is not configured for 2nd level access. Maybe a keycode is required to activate this option.

Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong?

Menu Levels" are called paths.

Path 0 is the main menu. Digits dialed, are called paths 1-8. 2nd level paths are available for each upper level paths

Path 1 will have 8 possible sellections path 11-18
Path 2: 21-28
And so on

Ok so this is what I'm trying to build..

Path 0 = main menu
Path 1 = xfer to i/c 222
Path 2 = xfer to i/c 225
Path 3 = Menu (estimating dept)
Path 4 = Menu (projects)

I would like to have in the path 3 menu, 2 numbers to program xfer to i/c. (press 1 for...press 2 for...)

How do you access / program the number selection in the menu 3 which is part of Path 0???

Simple to remember this way....a Path Number is equal to what the caller has to press (in AA) to get to the final destination.
So "For accounting press 3"
then
"for payable s press 1, for receivables press 2"
Caller press's 3 1 or 3 2

So you want to program Path 31 (for transfer to Payable's) and 32 (for transfer to Receivables).
Path 3 = Menu
- Path 31 = Trsfr, 222
- Path 32 = Trsfr, 223

Thanks curlycord.

So to make sure I understand this correctly, my greeting message would be...
press 1 for sales
press 2 for support
press 31 for Bob in estimating
press 32 for Jane in estimating

and I program it as follows...

path 1 = xfer to i/c 221
path 2 = xfer to i/c 225
path 31 = xfer to i/c 222
path 32 = xfer to i/c 223

Is this correct and do I need to program the digit 3 as a menu and record a message or just use path 31 and program as xfer?

You could but no, you are forgetting your estimating dept choice.

press 1 for sales
press 2 for support
press 3 for estimates
--press 1 for Bob in estimating (this is a sub path of 3 which is path 31)
--press 2 for Jane in estimating (this is a sub path of 3 which is path 32)
press 4 for address, etc

path 1 = xfer to i/c 221
path 2 = xfer to i/c 225
path 3 = Menu, Greeting = "Press 1 for Bob or 2 for Jane"
path 31 = xfer to i/c 222
path 32 = xfer to i/c 223

So you program number 3 as a menu, record the greeting to say press 1 for... press 2 for... but how do you program the digit 1 and 2 as xfer to specific i/c numbers?

Sorry if it sounds like I don't get it but this is where I got stuck before.

Thanks to all that replied, it really helped me out. I used your suggestions and played with it awhile then finally got the drift of how you program it and then success. One big point learned...you must disable the tree before any program changes take effect.
