Hi

Does anyknow know what is the standby server take over time?
Minimum and maximum time?

Hi

Just an update, i read in the documentation that the "heartbeat"
service ping all the server every sec. So i assume that the standby server will take over the failing server immediately?

Many thanks

You know what they say about assume :)
It takes at least a couple of minutes (if at all, but that's another story).

Once the failure of a server is discovered the standby server must start the 'eri_sn' service and performa a data_restore. I have never actually timed it but immediate it is not.

Thanks for the reply

The eri_heartbeat pings all other server in the cluster every other sec. That means that the standby server will take over the failing server immediately if any active server fail.

However, for the standby server to be able to start functioning, the time taken is = to the startup time to start the service "eri_sn".

Thank you very much.

I'm a happy man now =)
