Hi

I have around 5 Solaris workstations and i dont have NIS , so i am using autoFS so that users can login on any machine with one single home dir. Recently i have changed one user home directory. Now he is able to use that on all machines except one machine. On that particular machine he is getting Stale NFS handle and could not able to get his home dir.

Can any one help in solving this problem

Could this user have been logged in when you made the changes? This could stop the new NFS mounts becoming active.

The user was probably logged in to that system when the changes were made. First, you can try to unmount the nfs shares from the machine with the stale file handle and recycle the automount daemon. (Usually does not work)
If you can schedule a reboot of the problem workstation, that should clear up the stale file handle.
