1. How can I determine if MS SQL Server Standard or Personal Edition is installed on my desktop PC (XP machine)?

2. How do I obtain/install SSRS for either edition ? (I have both edition original CDs)

Thanks.

Well, SQL Server standard edition won't install on Windows XP. Only Developer, Personal and Express will install on Windows XP (or any non-server OS).

The download site for SQL 2000 Reporting Services is

MCSA (2003) / MCDBA (SQL 2000)
MCTS (SQL 2005 / Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0: Configuration / Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007: Configuration)
MCITP Database Administrator (SQL 2005) / Database Developer (SQL 2005)

Thank you for the info. Given that I have Personal edition, from that site do I download/install "Reporting Services Trial Software"? Thanks.

Yep.

One other question. That version looks like it's a trial version good for 120 days. Will it really expire after 120 days or will it recognize that I have licensed Personal version installed and not expire?

Or, is there a way that I have to buy it separately?

Thank you for the help.

I'm not sure. I would assume that there is a readme of some sort which would cover those kinds of questions.
