Can anyone help me plesae.

When i try to log onto SQL server 7.0 hosted on a windows 2000 server from my windows xp machine. I occasionally get the error
"Unable to logon to server
S1000:[microsoft][odbc sql server sriver]
cannot generate SSPI context.

I have checked the microsoft web site and they think i could be missing a registry entry. But i have checked the server and my client mahine and the entry is there.

has anyone got any ideas?

I have never gotten that error before, but SSPI is used when you are actually authenticated with a domain. Are you successfuly logged into the network? Also, is this only on a specific program, or just randomly on different programs?

it happens when ever you are using a program that logs onto sql server. Could be Excel using Addins, MS access. or MSquery. but it doesnt happen every time. it appears to only happen once you have logged in a couple of times then go back.

I am successfully on the network. i have access to the network printers and the shared drives.

I cant think of anything it can be.
