We are comparing the Sonicwall SSL VPN 2000 and the WatchGuard Firebox SSL Core VPN to implement remote access for a number of mobile users (some from behind firewalls). These units are similarly priced BUT the WatchGuard product charges to have 5 tunnels in use. Price is obviously a factor but I'm interested in hearing your experience with these products or companies.

Which path do you recommend? Should the training courses as given by third parties be taken?

Sonicwall SSL-VPN has unlimited licencing and can work via Sonicwall Pro firewall appliances to provide unified threat mangement to stop remote users compramising your internal systems when connection from untrusted PCs.

The SSL VPN has full RADIUS snap in to Microsoft server environment.

The product is already good and further deveolopement is being done on it.

It is more important to look at what applications your users will be romotely accessing, and try to model how many users will be connected at the same time, you then need to look carefully at your Internet Connection and existing firewall bandwidths.

Hope this helps.
