Hi,
The environment is W2K server, Exchange 2000 and IIS5.0. W2K servers are at SP2 and Exchange 2000 servers are at SP2. Setup of Front-End Exchange with Back-End Exchange works fine. Implemented Certificate Authority locally (Microsoft CA.). I can get the secure channel working via the FE Exchange by configuring appropriately including IIS changes. On Virtual Server Web Site tab of the 'Exchange FE VS' I have set the IP address , TCP port (=80) and the SSL port (=443) values. A secure channel is setup but after rebooting the W2K server the SSL port field is blank. Consequently, access to the mail does not work. This is because the Directory Security tab / Secure Communications / EDIT ('Secure Communications') window is set to 'Require secure channel' as it should be. I have also turned ON/OFF the 'Require 128-bit encrption' setting with no positive results. Each time I either STOP/START the virtul server or I Restart IIS.
More details:
The FE Exchange server is a member W2K server.
I previously set up Multiple Identities for the Virtual Server and have tried to delete all but one of these but there is a relationship between these entries both on the defined FE and BE virtual servers. The identities that are deleted keep returning. Could the IIS metabase be the problem?
I can supply additional details if needed.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts concerning my problem.
