I have a client who runs their intranet on AS/400. I have very little knowledge of the AS/400 and it's capabilities.

Is there a way a client machine can upload files through a batch type process using an SSL connection to an AS/400? Or, is there a way I can securely transfer files from an NT machine to an AS/400 in a batch/automated process? - tleish

The AS/400 can participate in a NETBIOS network, so you can set up a share using AS/400 Netserver and copy directly from NT, though I don't know how secure this is.

IBM's Client Access product allows SSL-secured communication from an NT client. You need the Cryptographic Access Provider 57xx-AC3, which is a no-charge extension to OS/400, and a Client Access license for each connected workstation. The batch commands RFROMPCB and RTOPCB are used to perform the data transfer.

I the same, wants the AS/400 to extract data from my PC folder automatically (just like a real time uploading without user interventation). The list option that I can find is to create a night job process that will upload the data during mid nigth, theres no problem with that. But the problem there is that I can browse my data on the AS/400 on the next day

You may also want to look into NFS. You can mount the NT file system onto a directory on the as/400 and use as/400 commands to copy files to the NT server.
