The company I work has created an online store using Microsoft Commerce Server and SalesLogix. Anyhow, when a visitor enters the secure area they are prompted with a security alert stating:

You are about to be redirected to a connection that is not secure. The informatin you are sending might be retransmitted to a non secure site. Do you wish to continue?

What causes this? In the URL bar it does state: https://
. So shouldn't it be secure? Do I have to get a certificate or something? Your advice is appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

There could be several issues, but yes: you definitely do need a certificate, or have permission to use a shared certificate.

Certs run about $100 or less, and are available from Thawte, Verisign, and others. --------------

Thanks Foxdev. Your input is much appreciated. - DanH

The message is actually caused by redirection from an https page to an http page. It is fairly common and typically not a big deal. It is, however VERY annoying. I am currently searching for a way to eliminate this and would LOVE to hear if anyone knows how (besides keeping an entire client session all in https of course).

Looking forward to good advice! ;>
