I have seen my question asked here before on the net but did not see an answer. I am about to pull my hair out... if anyone has an answer please enlighten me.

I have ssh sentinel 1.3.2.2 on WinXP going out through a Linksys WRT54G over WAN to Linksys RV082. I have VPN rule setup and diagnostics say everything is fine and it says that I can now open a ipsec secure connection with no problem. However, when i right click on the sentinel icon and try to launch the same vpn tunnel, i get the standard error "check to see if gateway is online or you have correct authentication key, etc..." (the words aren't exact).

When I look in the log it states that there is no pre shared key so the authentication fails. I have tried everything I can think of and am baffled. It works when doing diagnostics but not whe launching the vpn. The preshared key is setup and works with diagnostics but it looks like it cant find it when launching the vpn. Could this be on the RV082 side?

Any thoughts? ... thanks in advance.

Did you ever get an answer to this? I am having the same problem.. :-(

No, I never did and I could not fix it.

Sorry.

Hey King,

If you can email me the sentinel software version you are using I can setup your scenerio and see what is going wrong for you.
