i've a exchange 5.5 srv on a win2000 srv and he wont send any e-mail to a custom recipient and i got a administrator notification that said :
the recipient cannot be treat due to a congestion in the MTS

Some one now what i need to configure in my exchange srv ?

Any email to any custom recipient or just a particular one?

If not to any will it send to any external address (ie if you type it in)?

it's a smtp adresse like XXXX@garant.com

and every custom recipient doesnt work

But if you create a new email and in the To: address manually type say someone@hotmail.com will that work?

Just trying to determine if it is a directory problem or an IMS problem.

Hi

We have a similar problem but ours revolves around X400 we create a custom address with and SMTP address and it gives us an X400 addy. If we remove the X400 addy we cannot send to them. To confuse it more we have another server in our site and it has no problems. We have removed our x400 connector some time ago, so i think our problem lies in the site addressing or routing which we have gone through but cant see anything, it must be in there though im sure.

Don't remove any object's X.400 address - even if you don't have any external (to Exchange) X.400 connections. Exchange uses X.400 internally to move messages around, it will break if you start to remove these addresses.

even if I put someone@hotmail.com it doenst work but we'll call a consultant and he'll fix my problem
so thanks guys

Do you have an Internet Mail connector installed? Its pretty easy to do if you don't.

yeah i have one installed and now i got at least a admin mail for my mts congestion maybe that we were infect by mydoom-C and my exchange got overcharged

Possible if you have no AV running, also possible that you are an open relay. Check Queues under the properties of you IM Connector. See if any have a lot of messages.
