SRPT095 HIRM: sio2 1 15 1 on the remote side 1 is. Before & after chg 1

I have an Opt 81C and we've been getting this message for a while. I changed out the System Utility card last night, but this morning the error message is back.

SRPT095 HIRM: sio2 1 15 1 on the remote side 1 is Out Of Service.
SRPT095 HIRM: sio2 1 15 1 on the remote side 1 is In Service.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this issue correctly?

Same issue I had on one of my 81's. I changed the system utility a few times and each time the trouble would go away for a few months but it would come back. Do you have the old card cage with the transition card? If so there is a small ribbon cable on the backplane that you can check. Anyway a sysload was a long term solution.

I've heard that I may need to access the other sys util card from the back plane. I'm not certain of the card cage. I also hear there is a dongle back there and it's a highly sensitive area. Would I be checking for a good connection on the ribbon cable, or...?

Yeah checking for the connection. It's hard to see so get a good light and look at it really good before you do anything. Take all of the covers off too. If this thing has been working though, I wouldn't count on this being the fix.
