SRNG advertising program by Search Hijackers

I was talking to my father, who lives in NJ and his pc started to have problems. First, is video card went for no apperent reason and so we reloaded the drives. Now that works. Second, and the most important his computer takes for ever on start up. So doing the most logical thing we went thru and did a spy-sweep. What we found was SRNG, but it is embeded so deep that we cannot remove it. Spy-Bot could not even remove it. I know there is a solution to this problem, but for right now stumped. Any help would be great. Thnaks for all those who help out.
