Adding on to my other question on flat files: If we have PeopleSoft installed on an Oracle database. Can I write an SQR to pull data from a legacy database (Sybase or SQLServer) and place that into a flat file to be used by a delivered sqr?

If so, where do i run this custom sqr from and how do i tell it to grab from a legacy database and not Oracle?

Yes, I believe that you can use SQR in that way. Seems to me that you may be looking at some difficulties. You will basically be using the ODBC version of SQR for accessing the legacy databases and the delivered version to access Oracle. I'm not familiar enough with the intricacies of SQR to really know what is involved in making this work. This is a question that is probably best asked to the SQR user's group at
Personally, I would consider using Access for a one time download or some tool already working with your legacy database for on-going downloads.
