SQLPLUS connect error: ubofscr function not supported 2

I installed Oracle8i Lite and Oracle Forms and Reports on my Windows 95 home pc. The on-line help says that to fix the error in the subject line I need to download oca605290.zip from the Lite cd. However, it is not there. Where can I get it?

Perhaps you are misreading the online help. "Download" doesn't sound like something one would do from an install CD. Maybe you need to download and install a patch from Oracle's web site.

Thanks for the reply. My mistake, it did not say download, it said copy. I have spent some time at the Oracle website, but could find anything about this problem. Here is the text:
OCA Release 6.0.5.3.0 is installed for compatibility with Oracle Required Support Files version 8.0.5. If you install newer client tools which upgrade your Required Support Files to version 8.0.5.1, you may experience an error message, "OCA-30002: ubofscr function not supported". To upgrade OCA to correct this problem, copy the OCA605290.zip file from the \WIN32 folder of the Oracle8i Lite CD-ROM, unzip it and follow the instructions in the README.TXT file which it contains.

Solution Description

Download the correct version of the Oracle Oracle Client Adapter (OCA)
needed to support an ODBC connection from:

ftp://oracle-ftp.oracle.com/server/patchsets/wgt_tech/olite/oca605290/

Open Client Adapter
patch version 6.0.5.29.0

UB80W32.DLL is the only file required.
Install it in the <oracle_home>\BIN directory, replacing the one that is there.

*Note: You may wish to save your original UB80W32.DLL to a safe place, in
case of difficulties with this 6.0.5.29.0 patch.

This release fixes an incompatibility with the Required Support Files for
Oracle8 version 8.0.5.1.5 which resulted in an error message like &quot;UBOFSCR
function not supported&quot;. Apparently, this incompatibility also exists in 8.0.6.0.0.

Explanation

This is a known problem because of mismatched versions of OCA.

I went and got the file, replaced the existing DLL and now have access to SQLPLUS. Thank you very much.
