SQL7, GM4 .. can it run with both SQL/Windows Security

Hello all,

Having an issue with trying to change the security settings for authentication in our SQL 7 server on which GM4 resides, from present setting of Windows Authentication to SQL and Windows. After making this change and stopping/restarting SQL, noone can get back into Goldmine until we reverse the whole process and go back to Windows ONLY.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Are you able to connect to the GoldMine SQL Database using mixed mode authentication in Enterprise Manager?

Have you set the SQL username that you are using on each individual's GM username?

What is the error that is being generated?

Should have tried this before I got all the users out and changed back to Windows only. I will try so after I decide my next course of action and try the change again.

2. Have you set the SQL username that you are using on each individual's GM username?

I do not understand this one. If you are allowing dual authentication, do you then need to go into every users' .ini file and add the sql username? Wouldn't they still be able to authenticate with their windows username?

3. What is the error that is being generated?

No error is generated. A login prompt for username and password appears after attempting to access Goldmine. When the correct username/password is entered, it comes back saying the username/password is not recognized, almost as if it is SQL only instead of dual authentication enabled.
