SQL2000 attached to SQL7

I would like to known if it is possible to "attach" the .MDF and .LDF of a SQL2000 database to a SQL7 database.

We want to do certain process on a SQL2000 database. After we took the database off-line, we want to take these .LDF and .MDF to a SQL7 database and use them with SQL7 server.

I know this process sounds unusual, but there is a need for it.
