I have registered two SQl Servers on a server running windows server 2003 and expected all the users members of "Power Users" to be able to see those registrations when logging in under their usernames which is not the case.
All they can see is the native Sql Server.
Are Sql Server registrations on a Server, particular to a User profile then ???

Yes. Each user much register all servers them selves in the Enterprise Manager.

Actually, you can store just one set of registrations that all users see when using the machine:

In EM, go to Tools > Options. In the "Server registration information" box uncheck the option to "Read/Store user independent".

The only thing you can't do is specify which local groups (eg Power Users) can see which registrations - it's either all users see the same or each has to set up their own.

Excellent ! Providing it works that's great as any user allowed to log into this Server is allowed to access all the registered Sql servers anyway.

You know, I didn't want to be ungrateful so I said nothing to the previous reply but I had seen it happen before so I thought it should be possible unles they had changed it in 2000.

Thanks. One of the few answers I ever got in this forum, I was becoming paranoid !
