Good Day,

I need help with regards to my connectivity to our Avaya Database.
I found out that I can do it by using Informix.
I just want to know what did I missed because im having problem with my linked server settings
on my sql server r2 2008.

Reference #1

On my Data Sources (ODBC). I have set up IBM INFORMIX ODBC DRIVER.
And testing connection is successful

Reference #2

But on my link server settings of my SQL Management Studio (R2 2008).
Under providers dropdown, the driver is non-existent.
If you could somehow tell me how could I connect to that would be a great help.

Regards,

UPDATE !

I re-installed Informix Software Development Kit and it updated all the required dll's.
run -> regsvr32 ifxoledbc
and the INFORMIX ODBC DRIVER is configured.

But a new problem arises,
as I set up my linked server I get this error..

An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement or batch (Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo)
Cannot initialize the data source object if OLE DB provider "ifxoledbc" for linked server "mylinkserver".
OLE DB provider "ifxoledbc" for linked server "mylinkserver" returned message "E08004: (-930) Cannot connect to database server (mydatasource).".(Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 7303)

How could I possible fix this?
