Chaps this is not a programming question but I was not sure what forum to use in order to post this question.

When you go into SQL server properties and go into the general tab the language option for all our SQL server is set to English (United States). Can someone tell me how this can be changed to English (United Kingdom)

Once again apologies for using the wrong forum.

Thank you

not real sure if this helps but in EM when I select properties on the server under the server setings i can change the language to british english.

Unfortunately that is not that the answer that I was after I know you can go into Server settings in EM and change the default language. However if you look at the general tab and look at Language it is set to English (United States.

Ash786,

Just tested this on my Dev version of SQL (I have SP3 installed) and I see what you're talking about. I've got the Default language set to British English, but it definately is still showing English (United States) on the general tab.

There are one of two possibilities here. 1) Either SQL Server got your language set up from the Windows OS (have you checked what language you've got there?) when it installed, or 2) the language, like the collation, is picked when you initially install SQL Server and it doesn't want to be changed without you uninstalling and re-installing SQL Server.

Doesn't make sense for MS to offer the option of changing the language in the server after it's been set up, though. Especially if it's only a cosmetic box setup.
