Hi all -

Quick, and maybe easy, question. Have installed SQL 2005 Express on Windows Ultimate laptop. Server is running and I can access the Confituration Manager, but can not find the SQL Server Management Console. ?? Everything else seems normal in that the server and can be stopped and started with no apparent problems. Any suggestions/ideas would be appreciated..

Thanks,

Bill

Did you install "Workstation tools"?
And it is Studio not Console :)

Thanks Borislav! Can't load anything related to SQL 2005. Get errors. Can't uninstall SQL 2005 either. Don't believe it is a SQL problem, but a Vista problem. NOT happy at all with Vista - has always been a problem.

Thanks!

I always wonder about Vista problems?
Yeah,
If you are NOT an administrator of the computer you will have every problems you could think of.
But IF you run every SETUP as Administrator and install them for every user you will have none (at least that is how it works for me)

Most things seem to work fine when installing as you suggest, but this is one that seems to have me stumpted! (Don't know about that spelling!) Since I'm the only user on this computer, I install everything as administrator and for everyone.
