We are setting up CCC and are going to be implementing SQL Server instead of MSDE because of the number of agents and supervisors. Does anyone know how we need to handle the SQL Server licensing? Do we need a CAL for each agent, or for just the Supervisors, for everyone, or does the CCC solution connect to SQL with just one user account and therefor only need 1 CAL?

Also does CCC support SQL 2005 yet? Everything I read talks about SQL 2000.

Thanks

Last I've seen documentation states that CCC does not support SQL 2005.

Regarding the SQL license i think there are two apps accessing the SQL database : the archiver and the reporter.
No other app will access the sql database directly.

The latest maintenance release of CCC supports SQL Server 2005 or whatever it's called! Express etc

which is good news...

I just looked over the technical document for the latest maintenance release. 'Global IP Office Technical Bulletin Number 81' There is no mention in there of adding support for SQL 2005.

Did you mean the latest release thats out or the Q2 release?

If you contact your distributor Avaya have tested sql2005 and they do have an unofficial document that details what you need to if you are using sql2005.

There are a couple of things that you need to do on the install to make it work.

I did have this document but now cannot find it.

I know for a fact that this has been tried and there are a couple of caveats you need to be aware of on the installation.

But it still isnt supported.
