I have created a DTS Package by using the wizard. I can go to Local Packages and click execute package and it runs fine. But I am trying to schedule to run at a specific time but will will not run. When I try to run the job it gives me The job failed. The Job was invoked by User domain\mywindowslogon. The last step to run was step 1 (TRMTRS PERL IMPORT). What am I doing wrong?

One problem is that when you excute a DTS it runs locally, however when you run as a schedule job it runs from the server.

So if you a tell the DTS to get a file from a mapped drive...something like G:\incoming_Files\ and the server does not have the G drive mapped to it...the DTS will fail. You should specify the full network name in this case...IF this is not issue...Then try posting this topic in the DTS forum forum961.

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot. I finally figured it out. I knew it I could run it from a package I should be able to run the job schedule. And your were right on. I also had to change the sql server agent account to mine because it couldn't travel across servers without using my windows username and password. Thanks for you reply.
