SQL Server datasource password not saved?

I have a SQL Server 2000 datasource that I write a number of reports on. In the past I have have used an ODBC to connect to it with my CRXI without problem. I now need to post them on an CR Enterprise so I can't use ODBC (At least I am assuming I can't because other users need to access the data). I have tried an OLE (ADO) but it never seems to save the password. I have tried SQL Native Client and Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server as the providers. THe userId is saved but the password isn't, whether I click on integrated security or not? Am I missing something or is there an easier way?

I'm assuming you are logging in as an admin -- has this issue been resolved or is this still an issue? I'm curious as to what the answer to this is, also.

Yes, you can use an ODBC connection with CR Enterprise. The connection DSN has to be set up on the server(s) where Enterprise is running.

Normally Crystal itself doesn't store the password. However, when a report is published to Enterprise, all of the logon information is stored as part of the publication process.

Unfortunately I can't set up the DSN on the server that Enterprise is running. I work for an extremely large employer and only God himself has the necessary rights to do it. Maybe i need to create a connection string. It is just weird that you can even type in the password in ENterprise and it doesn't seem to keep it.

Are you entering the password in enterprise in ePortfolio/InfoView or the CMC...?

You need an admin to set the password on the RPT Objects in the CMC.

I have full control (advaanced to have explicitly granted to all) to my objects and the folders that it is in.

I did it! I used an ODBC, sort of, thanks Dell. I opened the report in CRXI, set a new database location, choose ODBC but then i clicked "Enter Connection String" and put in DRIVER=SQL Server; I then clcked next, entered the Server, User ID, Password and Database name. I then saved it to Enterprise. I then had to login into CMS and re-enter the password and told it to use the password from login and it works, and i can refresh the data. Obviously the data connections i Was using before was not saving the password, but this works! Thanks everyone for helping.
