Hi All,
I just moved my databases from an older Server to a new windows 2003 SP1 server. I was connected and all my jobs ran fine last night. All of a sudden this morning I tried to connect thru EM and I get the following error:
"A connection Could not be established to (local)
Reason: SSL Security Error
ConnectionOpen(SecDoClientHandShake())..
Please verify SQL Server is running and check your reg....."

Has anyone seen this before? Since when is SQL looking for SSL's????

TIA,
Joe

I've seen that error when the SQL Server is not a member of the Domain and you try to use Windows authentication to connect to the instance. Is the server a member of the Domain?

Yes it is. I was trying to to connect as SA as well. I am thinking SQL2005 uses SSL's? I had 2005 installed. I uninstalled 2005 and installed 2000 on the box. Maybe 2005 left some incompatible items? Who knows....
I deleted the SSL's on the server and all seems to be working again.

Thanks for the response.
Joe
