I'm brand new to Analysis Services. I've created a cube summarizing employee hours and earnings across various dimensions. Everything looks ok except all the aggregations are excluding the negative numbers. The totals include only the sum of the positive numbers. The sum should also subtract the negative numbers.

please, describe your cube's structure.
so I may be will be able to help

Do the negative values completely not influence on the results of the SUM?
May be check that your rows with negative data has any additional characteristic that is used as data source for some another dimension?

Good luck.

I discovered the mistake I made.

The dimension code used on the negative records in the fact table did not have a corresponding record in the dimension table so the negative records were not returned in the join.
