Sql server 7 installation

at the end connecting to server , messagebox comes and pc hungs, then
1.alt+ctrl+del
2.confgsrvr
3.activex components
in this sequence sql installation can be completed ,
but restart and the server will not start,
or if the server starts isql.exe will not run,
this will occur each time,
and a error message will appear,
we several persons face this sort of problem,
how will this be solved?

I've seen Microsoft's distributed COM stuff on the same machine as SQL Server 7 cause problems (ie. they appeared to be incompatible).
